Earth Station One Episode 181 – On a Quest with Monty Python for the Holy Grail

Plus, we also … Continue reading

Star Mage will be Published by IDW this April!

OrasmasClipJC De La Torre has announced via his facebook page that his comic Star Mage will be released as a six issue mini-series by premiere independent comics giant IDW.  Star Mage is about Darien, a gifted 14 year old boy who discovers that he is not human, has magical powers and is part of an ancient war between alien magical races. While he learns of his legacy, destiny and importance to the battle, Darien establishes bonds with new, strange friends and learns his magical craft of Kishpu.

The first series consists of all of these elements as well as setting up the mythology of the Sarru Kishpu, the world of Eridu and their enemies. We’re introduced to Darien’s three friends – Unura, Tirwa and Anthaar – each aliens with their own powers that become crucial in the end game against their hated enemy, Orasmas Xul Sarrum.  While the story starts on Earth, we will be taken to the far reaches of the galaxy, meet new races and discover strange new worlds.

The first three issues of Star Mage were funded on Kickstarter on July 18th. The comic doubled it’s target goal.

“Today is a major day folks. I’m happy to announce that we’ve signed our deal with IDW Comics for Star Mage. Look for it this April!” De La Torre said on his Facebook page.

IDW Publishing currently publishes a wide range of comic books and graphic novels including titles based on AngelDoctor WhoGI JoeStar TrekTerminator: Salvation, andTransformers. Creator-driven titles include Fallen Angel by Peter David and JK Woodward, Locke & Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, and a variety of titles by writer Steve Niles including Wake the DeadEpilogue, and Dead, She Said.

With amazing artwork by Ray Dillon and Franco Cespedes as well as a deep, far reaching storyline by De La Torre – Star Mage could be the next big thing in 2014.
